What qualifications do I need to have to work at the quarry as a union member?

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Pass Drug Test
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Able to legally work in the US

What qualifications do I need to have to work for Kinkaid Stone as a company employee?

Qualifications vary based on job description, but minimum qualifications would be as follows:
  • Pass Drug Test
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Able to legally work in the US
  • At least 18 yrs of age

What if I have a criminal record?

Having a criminal record does not automatically bar you from either union membership or employment with Kinkaid Stone.

Specific convictions can affect your ability to work on highly regulated projects such as schools, railroads and other high security sites, but a criminal record should not be a significant barrier to employment.

How long are applications kept on file?

Applications are kept on file for 90 days. Please re-apply if your application is older than 90 days.

How often do you post new positions on your website?

An updated listing of staff position vacancies is continuously available on the careers page of the website, the listing provides the title and a brief summary of the jobs currently available, as well as the minimum position requirements.

How do I know if a job I see posted is still open?

All jobs that appear on the website are still open. They may be at different stages of the interview/hiring process, but they are still open.

How can I check the status of my application?

You can call the Human Resources Manager at E.T. Simonds Construction at 618-457-8191. Please keep in mind, due to the large number of applications received for each position, it can take up to 30 days to screen through applications prior to the scheduling of interviews.
